how much gold can expat can take to india ? recently indian govermnet changed rules customs can youtell me what is updated tax and can we take ornaments or not

Recently they have implemented a old law like men can take up to 10,000RS value gold and women can take up to 20,000RS value gold. If you take more than this you have to pay tax in airport.
But one of my friend traveled last month and customs officials did not ask anything like that. He took gold without paying any tax. anyhow be careful.

If you have enough money I think you can take up to 5 KG.
